Tracy Bowden, DDS

Dr. Tracy Bowden attended dental school at the Medical College of Virginia, graduating with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1987. He received his specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from MCV in 1989. Dr. Bowden has been performing in-office sedations for over three decades and serves the Greater Baltimore area on the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners, where he evaluates and certifies dentists and their staff to safely and effectively adminster sedation dentistry in their offices.

He has practiced in the Timonium, Maryland area for over 35 years and advances his dental knowledge monthly through continuing education. Dr. Bowden is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Baltimore County Dental Association, where he previously served as President. He is well respected in the Greater Baltimore dental community and is consistently recognized as one of the top pediatric dentists in the state, according to an annual survey conducted by Baltimore Magazine. Dr. Bowden’s goal as a dentist is to positively impact his patients’ lives by helping them maintain a happy, healthy smile through childhood and into adulthood.

He takes great pride in the relationships he has built with many families over the years. Dr. Bowden has three sons, one of whom practices with him at Kids First Pediatric Dentistry. His hobbies include pickleball, swimming, traveling, and spending quality time with his children and family.

Austin Bowden, DDS

Dr. Austin Bowden, son of Dr. Tracy Bowden, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and attended dental school at the University of Maryland, where he graduated at the top of his class in 2014. While in dental school, he served as the President of the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry student chapter and was actively involved in the Hispanic Dental Association. He received his specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in June 2016.

Dr. Austin is a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and Baltimore County Dental Association, where he previously served as Vice President and in various other roles on the Board. He regularly participates in continuing education to remain at the forefront of modern dental care.

Dr. Austin comes from a family of dentists, with 8 close relatives, including his mother and father, who are also dentists. He enjoys making lasting impressions on his patients and interacting with their parents. As a dentist, his goal is to provide the highest quality of care in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.

Dr. Austin is proficient in Spanish. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is a car enthusiast who also loves to travel, often indulging his self-proclaimed love of food along the way.

Vidisha Sharma, DMD

Dr. Vidisha Sharma was born in the small city of Munger in India and was raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Sharma attended dental school at the prestigious Ivy League University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. She graduated with Honors in Community Oral Health and the Medically Complex Clinic, and was a recipient of a Dean’s Scholarship. She then completed her specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital Colorado, one of the top 10 children’s hospitals in the nation.

During her time in dental school, Dr. Sharma maintained leadership roles in the American Student Dental Association, the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, and as treasurer of her class and executive student councils. Currently, she is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Sharma is the first dentist in her family. She enjoys spending time with her pediatric patients to help them feel safe and comfortable while teaching them about their own oral health.

Dr. Sharma is fluent in Hindi and enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, and traveling outside of work.

Laura Choque, DDS

Dr. Laura Choque grew up in Maryland and is proud to serve the community she has always called home. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland before pursuing her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University. She then completed her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Florida.

During her residency, Dr. Laura gained extensive experience treating children with special healthcare needs and medically complex conditions. She provides individualized, compassionate care, including advanced behavior guidance, hospital-based treatment, and collaboration with medical specialists. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

She is fluent in Spanish and is proud to serve both English- and Spanish-speaking families, helping ensure clear communication while creating positive, comfortable dental experiences for parents and children alike.

After completing her training, Dr. Laura returned to Maryland to be close to family. As both a pediatric dentist and a mother, she understands the importance of making families feel supported and heard when it comes to their child’s health.

Outside of the office, Dr. Laura enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors.

Kristen Obrecht, DDS

Dr. Kristen Obrecht is a Baltimore County native and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2021. After practicing general dentistry, she pursued advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry, earning her certificate in 2024 while serving as Chief Resident.

During her residency, Dr. Obrecht gained extensive experience in hospital-based dentistry and comprehensive care of children with special and complex healthcare needs. She is dedicated to making every dental visit calm and reassuring, building trust with children and supporting families every step of the way.

Dr. Obrecht is an active member of both the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She values lifelong learning and regularly participates in continuing education to stay current with advancements in pediatric dental care.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Obrecht enjoys spending time with her husband and renovating their home in the Baltimore area. She values maintaining an active lifestyle and makes time each day to be outdoors, often exploring her neighborhood on walks. In her free time, she enjoys spending weekends with family and friends.

Cynthia S., RDH, CDA – Clinical Manager & Dental Hygienist

Cynthia has been a valued member of our team since 1999, bringing decades of experience in the dental field. She began her career as a Certified Dental Assistant and has expanded her expertise to include dental hygiene and assisting with general anesthesia cases.

She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) in 2001, earning the highest clinical chairside grade. She was also honored with the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award in recognition of her high level of competency in the clinic and has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since graduating.

Cynthia takes great pride in the values of our practice and strives to reflect them in her daily work. She is dedicated to treating both parents and children with respect while helping patients feel comfortable and have positive dental experiences. She is also committed to providing high-quality care and maintaining an efficient, supportive clinical environment.

One of seven children, Cynthia has deep roots in Baltimore, where most of her family resides. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Denise S., CDA, DRT – Insurance & Administrative Manager
Denise joined our team in 2015. She began working in the dental field as a dental assistant in 1995, and transitioned into an administrative role in 2015, although she still loves assisting chairside when needed. She joined the dental field as a way to help people.

Denise enjoys being with her family and friends. To our patients, she says, “Keep your smile healthy and happy! It is what people will always remember about you!”
